Welcome to the online world of Big hART’s This Is Living This Is Living works with people of all ages to build an immersive performance piece that is at once universal and entirely local. Combining intimate stories from older members of our communities with the kinetic performances of skaters, it brings together professional artists, actors and theatre makers with non-professional performers. Growing from the communities in which we work, This Is Living is a theatrical work of scale that explores the journey of growing old, against a backdrop of youthful energy. This Is Living premiered in the 2009 programme for Ten Days on the Island, Tasmania’s prestigious, International festival of arts and culture. | Volunteer to enrich the experience
of living This Is Living grows from young people spending time with their elders, invited into homes and nursing homes, to share stories and life histories. This process is enriching for both the young and older people involved. If you would like to enrich someone’s day by volunteering in your community, contact your local Aged Care Facility. And say hello to your neighbour! |
